Position Overview:
Navistar presents an exciting opportunity for a Manager of ePowertrain Engineering Initiatives.
The selected candidate will be responsible for formulating and overseeing the ePowertrain-specific workplans to meet program and project objectives associated with Navistar's electrified commercial vehicle offerings.
The ePowertrain domain encompasses electric vehicle components such as high-voltage batteries, electric drive systems, power converters, distribution modules, and related ePowertrain systems and control software.
Responsibilities:
Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Formulate workplans and resource assessments for advanced and production ePowertrain vehicle initiatives and broader projects. Collaborate with the ePowertrain team, other Navistar divisions, and Traton groups to ensure a shared understanding of project deliverables, resource needs, timelines, and priorities.
- Coordinate with ePowertrain engineering leadership and engineers to prioritize team tasks throughout the lifecycle of programs and projects.
- Streamline work and information flow in accordance with Navistar's and Traton's development methodologies, online tools, and project management practices.
- Assume accountability for the execution of programs and projects.
- Monitor progress and utilize communication skills to report on project status, including budget, labor, and other expenditures, as well as deliverables, risks, issues, and resolutions.
- Collaborate with ePowertrain engineering leadership and engineers to mitigate project risks and resolve issues to ensure successful completion and delivery.
- Represent the ePowertrain team in larger program meetings.
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 8 years of experience in product design/development, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Alternatively, a Master's degree in Engineering or Engineering Technology with at least 6 years of experience in product design/development, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
- Or a PhD in Engineering or Engineering Technology with a minimum of 3 years of experience in product design/development, including at least 1 year in a leadership role.
Additional Requirements:
- Qualified candidates must be legally authorized to work in the United States without restrictions.
Desired Skills:
- Degree in Automotive-related Engineering (System, Electrical, Mechanical).
- Strong interest and enthusiasm for emerging vehicle propulsion technologies.
- Experience with automotive product development processes and product launches.
- Training and experience in traditional and agile project management methodologies; PMP certification or similar is a plus.
- Experience with electric vehicle programs, EV electronic/electrical modules, and/or EV systems is preferred.
