Overview

The primary responsibility of this position is to exercise discretion and independent judgment in the management of truss designs for 84 Lumber, including interpretation and design of engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings.

This role provides necessary supervision, leadership, and development for the design technical staff to manage these tasks efficiently. The position also involves mentoring designers to improve communication skills and ensuring accurate and quality designs by supervising and directing their work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Interpreting and designing engineered components and panels from architectural prints to produce placement layouts and engineered truss drawings.
  • Supervising and directing designers' work to ensure accurate designs.
  • Scheduling design work and managing customer-related design issues.
  • Developing designers' skills to enable them to advance through the design levels.
  • Maintaining effective communication with other teams, including sales, production, customer service, and management.

Requirements:

  • Familiarity with database software and design software, including MiTek.
  • Proficiency in word processing software, spreadsheet software, and internet software.
  • Able to respond to common inquiries and resolve complaints from customers.
  • Multi-family design experience.

Estimated Salary:$90,000 - $110,000 per year
