Job Title: Licensed Practical Nurse

Job Summary:
This position provides direct nursing services and health-related training to district staff and students. The Licensed Practical Nurse will work closely with teachers to assist with daily classroom activities, including helping to schedule and implement programs in accordance with the curriculum.

Responsibilities:
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to develop individual educational programs (IEPs)
Assist students with daily tasks as directed by the teacher
Assist teachers with conducting lessons, managing the classroom, and developing materials
Administer medications and tube feedings as scheduled on the Individualized Health and Safety Plan (IHSP)
Provide treatments such as suctioning as scheduled on the IHSP
Chart tasks, medications, etc., in a timely manner and using proper forms
Provide individual tutoring to students
Collaborate with the site RN and District Health Coordinator regarding health-related issues of students

Requirements:
Practical Nurse license by the Oklahoma Board of Nursing
Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
Ability to compose and write grammatically correct correspondence and memos
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists

Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to fume or airborne particles. The employee frequently works in high, precarious places and in outside weather conditions. The noise level in the work environment will vary from somewhat loud to extremely loud.
