Sterile Processing Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Sterile Processing Technician to join our team at Sierra Medical Center. As a Sterile Processing Technician, you will play a critical role in ensuring the highest level of patient care by processing and sterilizing medical instruments and equipment.
Key Responsibilities- Decontamination, cleaning, processing, and sterilization of instrumentation, supplies, and equipment dispensed by the department following established infection control practices.
- Initiates case carts for Surgical Services.
- Ensures proper operation of sterilizers (Steam, Ethylene Oxide, and Sterrad units) prior to use on a daily basis.
- Runs biological and chemical tests at the beginning of the day shift for both SPD and the OR. Records results in the appropriate log.
- Inspects all sterilizers for visible signs of malfunction and reports to the SPD Supervisor.
- Cleans and decontaminates all equipment and instruments using the proper tools and cleaning agents.
- High School graduate or equivalent.
- Minimum of one (1) year experience as a Central Service Technician.
- Obtains national certification within 18 months of hire into the department.
