We are seeking a skilled Licensed Veterinary Technician to join our Surgery Department. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional care to our patients.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Follow detailed orders and build trust with clinicians quickly.
  • Skilled in intubation, extubation, and monitoring anesthetic procedures.
  • Understand the importance of sterility in all procedures performed and have prior knowledge and experience with sterilization processes.
  • Provide nursing care to stable patients according to hospital standards of care and core values.
  • Utilize ability to place peripheral intravenous catheter in cephalic vein.
  • Perform physical exam; accurately count heart, pulse rate, capillary refill time, mucous membranes, temperature, respiratory rate, and effort.
  • Understand normal vital parameters and alert doctor when abnormal.
  • Able to set up intravenous fluids.
  • Administer subcutaneous fluids.
  • Can operate all brands of intravenous fluid pumps and can troubleshoot errors.
  • Able to disconnect and connect patient from intravenous fluids aseptically.
  • Ability to monitor patient response to fluid therapy including signs of overload.
