Position Overview:
Inova Health System is seeking a
Cardiovascular Invasive Technician 2
to become a vital part of our
Cath Lab. This is a full-time position with a schedule starting at 6:30 AM, offering either 4-10 hour shifts or 3-12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday; on-call duties are required.

Key Responsibilities:
Deliver safe and therapeutic care in a holistic manner, respecting individual differences in the provision of care. Utilize knowledge, skills, and experiences to address patient needs.
Conduct psychosocial and physiological assessments that adapt to evolving data as recorded in procedure notes.
Customize and prioritize care practices to meet individual needs, including cultural, ethical, and spiritual considerations. Engage in planning for routine transitional health care needs (e.g., treatment options).
Ensure efficient care delivery by determining immediate priorities and proposing solutions to challenges.

Assist physicians with diagnostic and therapeutic procedures in the cath lab, including preparing the sterile field, selecting and preparing instruments and supplies, manipulating cardiac catheters, guidewires, and injecting contrast media. Administer medications, including moderate sedation, as directed by the physician.

Operate, calibrate, and troubleshoot a variety of equipment and instruments daily. Maintain quality assurance records as necessary.
Select appropriate instruments and supplies based on patient presentations during procedures.
Delegate patient care activities to other healthcare team members appropriately and participate in making and adjusting staff assignments.

Qualifications:

Work Schedule:
Start time for the Cath lab is 6:30 AM, with options for 4-10 hour shifts or 3-12 hour shifts, Monday through Friday; on-call duties are required.

Educational Background:

Graduate of an accredited nursing program and/or an accredited Cardiovascular Technology or Radiology Technology program, or equivalent education and experience.


Professional Experience:

One to three years of experience in an interventional Cardiac Cath Lab or Electrophysiology Lab performing Cardiovascular Invasive Technician duties, or equivalent experience as a nurse in a critical care hospital unit.


Certifications:

BLS Certification, ACLS Certification, and registration in one of the following: RCIS, RTR VI, RTR CV, RTR CI, unless a graduate of an accredited nursing program. If not registered, must be licensed as a Registered Nurse in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
