About the Role

Your daily routine here at Schneider Electric involves collaborating with an Agile team to develop state-of-the-art software. As a Senior Web Software Developer, you will be working closely with other software engineers, quality assurance engineers, product owners, and product managers to create an exceptional user experience for our utility industry customers.

The team is responsible for developing a suite of applications that support end-to-end design and asset management for electric, gas, water, and telecommunication companies across the globe. These Geographic Information Systems (GIS) applications are built on the Esri GIS platform, providing focused tooling for the utility sector.

As a key member of the team, you will participate in making architecture and design decisions, collaborate with technical staff, and work with product managers to review requirements and estimate development effort. Additionally, you will provide inputs on technical direction and leadership of development activities, promote component quality, and investigate innovative technologies.

To be successful in this role, you will need to have a solid background in design patterns, building scalable and reliable web applications, and a passion for improving software development abilities. You will be working with an architect, product owner, and scrum team to build a 'greenfield' web application based on the Esri JavaScript SDK that integrates with the ArcFM product suite.

About You

We are looking for a software developer with a BS in Computer Science or equivalent level of degree and experience. You should have experience developing JavaScript Web Applications that interact with cloud-hosted microservices and be ready for a challenge of building a new application from the ground level.

As a Senior Web Software Developer, you will be part of an Agile team developing great solutions throughout the entire software development lifecycle. You will have the opportunity to grow and mature your skills with our support of your ideas on product innovation.

Responsibilities
  • Involved in making architecture and design decisions.
  • Collaborate with other technical staff, including technical leads and architects.
  • Work with product managers and product specialists to review requirements and estimate development effort.
  • Provide inputs on technical direction and leadership of development activities.
  • Promote component quality through involvement in architecture discussions, design reviews, and code reviews.
  • Investigate, evangelize, and propose adoption of innovative technology.
  • Demonstrate excellent teamwork and collaborative skills.
  • Work with the development team to define and ensure adherence to process and product standards.
  • Keep abreast of latest developments and processes in software engineering.
  • Builds knowledge of products and technologies outside of their immediate scope of work.
  • Design, develop, test, and maintain software in conformance to company policies, standards, and best practices.
  • Working and interfacing with development teams in different time zones and cultures.
Requirements
  • BS in Computer Science, MS in Computer Information Systems (CIS), or related field with strong computer emphasis.
  • At least 5+ years hands-on experience in developing and delivering software products.
  • Tangible experience working with web development technologies, including JavaScript, HTML, CSS, Microsoft Azure.
  • Knowledge/experience of end-user applications with Microsoft .NET developer tools (C# in particular).
  • Knowledge in all aspects of the software life cycle from definition, requirements analysis, and design to implementation.
  • Solid background and practical experience in object-oriented methodologies and design patterns.
  • A demonstrated passion for improving software development abilities.
  • Good interpersonal communication, collaboration, and organizational skills.
  • Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and practices; team-based software development.
  • Experience with test-driven development tools and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.

The estimated salary for this position is $96,000 - $144,000 per year, which includes base pay and short-term incentive.
