POSITION SUMMARY:
The City of Arlington is in search of a committed professional to oversee the effective application of street markings, which are essential for maintaining safe traffic and pedestrian movement throughout the city.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Managing and operating equipment for short-line markings.
- Providing training and oversight to Field Operations Specialists regarding the installation and upkeep of markings.
- Implementing and adhering to transportation regulations and safety protocols.
- Ensuring equipment is serviced and maintained according to manufacturer specifications.
- Driving various vehicles during emergency response situations.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Flexibly adapting to perform various tasks as needed.
- Leading the execution of pavement markings installations when necessary.
ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
- Understanding of equipment operation, maintenance, and safety practices.
- Awareness of industry-related hazards and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills and proficiency in record-keeping.
- Capability to operate specialized vehicles and machinery.
- Knowledge of emergency response protocols and safety measures.
- Physical ability to perform maintenance tasks and operate equipment effectively.
EDUCATIONAL BACKGROUND AND EXPERIENCE:
Applicants should possess a high school diploma or equivalent, along with a minimum of two years of relevant experience. Certification in signage and markings is mandatory, with opportunities for further certification within the first year of employment. A valid Texas Operator's License is required, with the expectation to obtain a Commercial License shortly after commencement. As part of the hiring process, candidates will undergo various screenings to assess their suitability for the position.
