Salary: $120,000 - $200,000 per annum, based on experience.

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced attorney to join our team. The successful candidate will have at least 3 years of civil litigation experience in business litigation and/or commercial real estate law, with a strong background in handling complex cases. This role requires extensive experience in litigation and a deep understanding of legal principles.

The ideal candidate will be licensed and in good standing in Texas, with the ability to work remotely but live near Houston, Texas, to attend court appearances and depositions as needed.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage litigation cases across various practice areas
  • Develop and implement case strategies that align with team goals
  • Oversee discovery, depositions, motions, and trial preparation
  • Represent the company and its subsidiaries in mediations, arbitrations, conferences, depositions, administrative hearings, and court proceedings
  • Negotiate settlements and alternative dispute resolutions
  • Provide guidance on legal strategies and case management
  • Independently negotiate, draft, and/or revise corporate and commercial agreements and other legal documents
  • Develop and improve agreement templates, transaction workflows, and processes
  • Business development and expansion
  • Collection activity, including filing liens
  • Client dispute resolution

Requirements:

  • 3-10 years of civil litigation experience
  • Business litigation and/or commercial real estate experience preferred
  • Licensed to practice and in good standing in Texas
  • J.D. from an accredited law school and excellent academic credentials
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent written and oral advocacy skills
  • Highly proficient using Microsoft software, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Experience drafting and responding to discovery and initial pleadings, drafting and arguing motions, as well as taking and defending depositions
