Job Summary

The Maintenance Team Lead is a critical role within the ClarkDietrich organization, responsible for overseeing the maintenance and repair of equipment, machinery, and physical structures within the facility. This position requires a strong work ethic, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Oversee the installation, maintenance, and repair of equipment, machinery, and physical structures to ensure a safe, reliable, and efficient work environment.
  • Provide training and mentoring to maintenance employees to ensure they have the necessary skills and knowledge to perform their duties effectively.
  • Prioritize maintenance activities and employee tasks based on communication from the Maintenance Manager.
  • Coordinate planned downtime with operations teams and scheduler to complete maintenance in an efficient manner.
  • Ensure that workflow and daily tasks are assigned and completed.
  • Interface with production managers, supervisors, and maintenance personnel regarding equipment problems and evaluate machine operation variations to diagnose problems or to repair machinery.
  • Work with the Maintenance Manager and Maintenance Facilitator to ensure that appropriate maintenance/repair parts are readily accessible for critical production machinery and facilities.
  • Ensure that work areas and general facilities comply with Clark-Dietrich safety standards.
  • Maintain department computer and documentation systems through organizing, controlling, and updating as required.
  • May fill in for the Maintenance Manager in their absence and manage the facility in the same capacity as the Maintenance Manager.
  • Ensures that all safety requirements are met by all employees.
  • Correct all unsafe acts and/or conditions.
  • Promotes Clark-Dietrich core values through actions as a role model.
  • Promotes Clark-Dietrich Cardinal Rules through actions as a role model.
  • Demonstrates a sound work ethic and actions that are necessary for continued advancement.
  • Promotes employee unity through his role as a team leader.
Requirements
  • Mechanically inclined with a strong understanding of equipment and machinery.
  • Problem-solving skills with the ability to diagnose and repair equipment.
  • Team-oriented with excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Basic computer skills, including email, search engines, and document management.
Education and Experience
  • Prior manufacturing experience preferred.
Mathematical Skills
  • Basic mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, and converting fractions into decimals.
  • Ability to read a tape measure, micrometer, and caliper accurately.
Physical Requirements
  • Lifting up to 50lbs.
  • Standing for 8 or more hours per day.
  • Walking for 4-6 hours per day.
  • Body positions, including squatting, bending, flexing, and extending both arms.
  • Grasping with both hands for up to 8 hours per day.
  • Sitting occasionally.
  • Pulling and pushing effort occasionally.
  • Climbing occasionally.
  • Climbing up and down stairs occasionally.
Work Environment
  • Manufacturing facility with exposure to heat and cold.
  • Personal Protective Equipment required at all times.
  • Hearing Protection Required at all times.
  • High activity level with continuous movement, majority of time spent on the production floor.
