Job Profile
This role is primarily based within PNC's operational footprint. Responsibilities will require regular office attendance or fieldwork, while some tasks may be performed remotely. As a Security Specialist, you will be located in a designated area.
On a daily basis, your responsibilities will include:
1. **Technical Expertise**
• **Data Protection & Encryption**: Proficiency in data encryption methods (both at rest and in transit), key management, and cryptographic protocols.
• **Cloud Security**: Knowledge of securing data in cloud environments such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud Platform.
• **Network Security**: Familiarity with network security protocols, firewalls, VPNs, and intrusion detection systems.
• **Database Security**: Understanding of securing databases, including role-based access control, auditing, and data masking.
• **Endpoint Security**: Skills in protecting end-user devices and familiarity with endpoint protection tools.
2. **Regulatory Compliance Knowledge**
• **GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA**: Comprehensive understanding of data protection regulations and compliance mandates.
• **Data Governance**: Familiarity with data governance frameworks to ensure data quality, privacy, and security.
• **Audit and Reporting**: Ability to prepare for compliance audits and generate necessary documentation.
3. **Professional Skills**
• **Analytical Thinking**: Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to identify and resolve data protection challenges.
• **Attention to Detail**: Precision in configuring and monitoring data security tools and practices.

5. **Tools and Technologies**
• **Security Information and Event Management (SIEM)**: Familiarity with tools like Splunk, Sentinel, or Logscale.
• **Data Loss Prevention (DLP)**: Knowledge of DLP solutions to prevent unauthorized data exfiltration.

Key Responsibilities- Conduct technical evaluations and analyses in specific security domains. Support processes and tools necessary to enhance the organization's overall security posture.
- Apply security principles, review information, execute defined tasks, analyze requirements, review logs, and create documentation. Perform investigations and data loss prevention, data manipulation, and coordination of activities. Take actions to address or mitigate risks and vulnerabilities.
- Advise on complex security procedures and products for clients, security administrators, and network operations. Participate in enforcing control security risks and threats.
- Conduct security assessments and other information security routines consistently. Investigate and recommend corrective actions for data security in accordance with established guidelines.
- Develop policies and procedures to standardize security functions and eliminate potential vulnerabilities and threats.
