RN - Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Specialist

As a Registered Nurse in our Medical/Surgical Intensive Care Unit, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and collaborating with a multidisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes. Key Responsibilities:- Assessment: Conduct thorough, accurate assessments of patients' biophysical, psychosocial, and environmental needs, identifying deviations from normal and developing individualized care plans.
- Planning: Develop and implement comprehensive nursing plans of care, coordinating with other departments and community agencies as needed, and prioritizing patient care activities based on acuity and scope of practice.
- Implementation: Initiate and manage patient care activities, including medication administration, wound care, and patient education, while maintaining accurate documentation and adhering to hospital policies and procedures.
- Evaluation: Continuously evaluate patient responses to treatment, assessing the effectiveness of care plans and making adjustments as needed, and participating in unit quality assurance activities.
- Minimum 9 months of RN experience, with 1 year of recent ICU nursing experience or successful completion of the Kaiser ICU cross-training program.
- Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
- Registered Nurse License (in the state where care is provided).
- Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Life Support, and NIH Stroke Scale Certificate within 3 months of hire.
- Previous healthcare experience.
- Bachelor's degree in nursing or related field.
- 2 years of recent ICU nursing experience preferred.
- CCRN preferred.
- Dialysis, SLED, or equivalent preferred.
This part-time position is located at Kaiser Sunnyside Medical Center in Clackamas, Oregon, with a scheduled 36-hour workweek, including nights and weekends.
