Compensation for Aquatics Program Manager: $38,500 - $42,000

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead lifeguard oversight and aquatic safety initiatives, including the scheduling of lifeguards and emergency coverage as necessary.
  • Act as a liaison for private and semi-private swimming instruction in collaboration with the Senior Director.
  • Work alongside the Senior Director of Aquatics to ensure equitable pool access and cultivate a supportive environment for all users, including swim teams, open swim, swim lessons, and water aerobics.
  • Maintain a consistent number of service hours each week.
  • Ensure the safety of aquatic facilities; keep decks clean and organized, maintain water clarity and chemical safety, and accurately document pool chemical tests, responding to results as per established protocols.
  • Enforce pool regulations professionally and oversee locker room monitoring by aquatics staff.
  • Assist the Senior Director with the recruitment, training, and ongoing development of lifeguards, providing continuous feedback and support.
  • Support the Senior Director in deck supervision, swim instruction (both group and private), and various administrative duties.

Qualifications:

  • Must be at least 18 years of age.
  • 1-3 years of experience in pool management or administration is preferred.
  • 1-3 years of experience in swim instruction is preferred.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguarding certification is required.
  • American Red Cross Lifeguard Instructor certification must be obtained within the first six months of employment.
  • Strong organizational skills and excellent communication abilities are essential.
  • Availability for one weekend day per week is required.
