Endoscopy Nurse Specialist

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Endoscopy Registered Nurse to join our team at St. David's Round Rock Medical Center. As an Endoscopy Registered Nurse, you will play a critical role in providing high-quality patient care and ensuring a safe and efficient environment for our patients.
Key Responsibilities- Plan, implement, evaluate, and document nursing care for endoscopy unit patients.
- Provide leadership and supervise the care, maintenance, and activities of the endoscopy suite.
- Ensure a clean, efficient, and safe environment within the work area.
- Complete age-appropriate assessment of patients prior to admission to surgical suite.
- Verify operative procedures and presence of signed consent on medical records.
- Verify that history, physical, and allergy information are recorded on medical records and communicated to the care team.
- Gather the patient's perception of surgery and understanding of the planned procedure, as well as provide patient teaching and emotional support.
- Assist with care of the patient during anesthesia.
- Perform surgical preps and position the patient properly for surgery.
- Administer medications and IV therapy correctly and safely.
- 1 year of clinical nursing experience as a Registered Nurse (RN) in Endoscopy.
- Associates degree in Nursing (ADN) from an accredited school of nursing.
- Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited school of nursing.
- Current State of Texas Registered Nurse (RN) license or Compact Registered Nursing License.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy.
- Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification per St. David's Healthcare policy required within 6 months of hire.
- Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification required within 6 months of hire.
- Society of Gastroenterology Nurses and Associates (SGNA) certification – preferred.
