Burns & McDonnell is seeking a highly skilled Senior Scientist to join our Environmental Services team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for leading and managing technical teams, project management, and business development in the environmental sector.
Key Responsibilities- Prepare studies, evaluations, and documentation for environmental projects, including NEPA and state requirements.
- Lead habitat assessments, species-specific surveys, and other protected species studies.
- Manage land use, DOT, and entitlement permitting efforts.
- Task management and mentoring of junior staff.
- Develop and cultivate relationships with clients, including proposal development and presentation.
- Prepare and present client and professional meeting presentations.
- Manage sales and marketing efforts, identifying key pursuits and ensuring QA/QC process adherence.
- Bachelor's degree in environmental science, ecology, or wildlife biology, or related field, plus 8 years of applicable consulting experience.
- 10 years of related consulting experience preferred.
- Specific experience in electricity transmission, oil & gas, renewable energy, transportation, and other similar markets is preferred.
- Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Working understanding of GIS and proficiency in Microsoft Office suite.
