Position Overview:
The Senior Quality Assurance Specialist will collaborate closely with development teams and business stakeholders to ascertain optimal testing coverage and guarantee the delivery of high-quality software solutions. This role encompasses the planning, execution, and oversight of testing activities across diverse projects spanning various business lines and technology platforms.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Design, develop, and execute comprehensive manual software tests, test plans, and test cases to fulfill quality objectives aligned with customer specifications and industry standards.
  • Analyze test outcomes and monitor risk levels throughout the testing process, diagnosing software, hardware, and data interface issues to ensure seamless system integration.
  • Document test findings, including any deviations and defects, for subsequent follow-up and product modifications.
  • Engage with fellow engineers, architects, and development teams to address challenges and resolve issues collaboratively.
  • Direct collaboration with offshore and onshore teams, product partners, and others to meet specified deliverables.
  • Review and approve peer test results and may implement the Software Quality Plan to ensure adherence to quality metrics.
  • Identify and facilitate discussions on issues with team leads, managing defects as necessary.
  • Prepare test metrics, results, and ad-hoc reports to illustrate testing progress and outcomes.
  • Work alongside cross-functional teams to uphold quality throughout the product lifecycle and advocate for quality enhancement initiatives.

Required Qualifications:
  • A minimum of 8-10 years of experience in QA functional testing with a comprehensive understanding of various technologies, including ETL, Mainframe, Kafka, CockroachDB, DB2, COBOL, and API Web Service testing.
  • Extensive experience in ETL data/file/database warehouse testing.
  • Strong grasp of mainframe architecture, batch processing, and online transaction systems.
  • Proficiency in JCL, VSAM, and other mainframe utilities.
  • Expertise in testing various conversion types, including file-to-file, file-to-database, and database-to-file.
  • Deep understanding of software development and QA lifecycle processes, including test planning, design, execution, defect tracking, and reporting.
  • Familiarity with tools such as Client ALM/Quality Center, JIRA, and Rally.
  • Proven capability to manage testing projects of varying sizes and effectively resolve issues.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, capable of interacting with all organizational levels.
  • Strong coordination skills and the ability to work effectively with geographically dispersed teams.
  • Adaptable and comfortable working in a matrix environment, whether as a senior team member or an individual contributor.
  • Experience in maintaining test environments and data for automation purposes.
  • 6-8 years of prior experience in automation testing (QTP/UFT/Selenium/TOSCA), with responsibilities including the development, enhancement, and maintenance of automated test scripts for regression testing.
  • Participation in the design and planning of automation strategies for applications.

Desired Qualifications:
  • BA/BS degree with 5+ years of directly related experience.
  • Experience in developing both automated and manual testing solutions.
  • Domain knowledge in banking and financial applications.
  • Prior experience with clients in Wealth Management is preferred.
