We are looking for a candidate who can demonstrate professionalism, curiosity, and self-motivation, with the ability to lead and support multiple planning projects. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in NEPA documentation and environmental reviews, as well as experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and stakeholders.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and guide the development of planning studies, technical memorandums, and reports in support of new and updated plans, programs, regulations, and proposed projects.
  • Assist Project Managers with transportation needs analysis, alternatives evaluation and screening, and impact assessments to the built and natural environments.
  • Perform basic computations, research, and prepare technical reports, feasibility studies, and state/federal environmental documents.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Urban and Regional Studies, Urban Planning, Geography, Public Administration, or other applicable discipline from an accredited college.
  • At least six years of experience working with NEPA documentation and/or environmental reviews and permitting.
  • AICP Certification is strongly preferred.
  • Knowledge and prior experience with environmental review and documentation, as it pertains to compliance with the National Environmental Policy Act (NEPA).
  • Experience working with local, state, and federal regulatory agencies and stakeholders on transportation projects.
  • Knowledge of transportation planning methods and application at the local and regional level.
  • Experience researching methods and statistical principles related to natural resource assessments, urban/rural growth and development.
  • Applied knowledge of methods and techniques of effective technical report preparation and presentations.
  • Experience writing and reviewing technical reports, including federal Categorical Exclusions, Environmental Assessments, and Environmental Impacts Statements.
