Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join our team at National Jewish Health. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide patient care in various settings, including inpatient units, outpatient clinics, and triage areas. Your expertise will be essential in assessing, diagnosing, and managing common acute and chronic conditions, as well as providing health education and counseling to patients and their families.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality patient care, utilizing the nursing process to manage health maintenance, health promotion, chronic, and acute conditions.
  • Perform and document physical exams, take patient histories, gather data from medical records, and develop assessment and care plans.
  • Act as a consultant to nursing staff, medical staff, and other support services in identifying and implementing patient care solutions.
  • Monitor patient progress, revise orders and care plans as needed, and maintain communication with referring physicians and other healthcare providers.
  • Write progress notes, work with attending physicians to review and approve clinical dictations, and maintain problem sheets.
  • Implement care and services that recognize age-specific needs and issues for customers served.
  • Participate in quality improvement projects, contribute to the development of team-based initiatives, and support research projects that enhance patient care standards.
  • Represent the unit and department on committees and interact with community, regional, and national organizations related to nursing and specialty practice.

Requirements

  • Current Certification by a national certifying body as a nurse practitioner.
  • Graduate degree preferred, but also required for all NPs who were not already on the Colorado Advanced Practice Registry as of June 30, 2008.
  • A minimum of two (2) years of recent and related experience as a nurse practitioner preferred.
  • Current Colorado RN license required, APN license required, and Healthcare provider level CPR/BLS required every 2 years.
