As a Physician Assistant/Nurse Practitioner on our Neurosurgery team, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality patient care and contributing to the success of our team. You will work closely with our neurosurgeons and other healthcare professionals to deliver exceptional patient outcomes. Your expertise and compassion will make a significant difference in the lives of our patients and their families.
Responsibilities:
- Obtain a thorough medical history, perform a comprehensive physical examination, and review relevant laboratory or radiologic studies to assess patients' medical, physical, psychological, and socio-economic status.
- Develop and implement treatment plans that align with the practice preferences of our collaborating physicians, including orders for medication and/or other treatment modalities, the need for additional testing, consultation with other providers, and follow-up provisions.
- Provide care with attention to safety, efficiency, and cost-effectiveness, prioritizing and adapting plans to meet the unique needs of each patient.
- Perform procedures within the limits of your expertise and in accordance with state regulations and organizational policies.
- Document all examination data, diagnostic impressions, and other patient care activities in the medical record, including the names of consulted physicians or other providers.
Requirements:
- Masters Degree in Nursing (for APNs) or Bachelors Degree (for PAs) from an accredited program.
- Graduation from a program approved by the Colorado State Board of Nursing (for APNs) or the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) (for PAs).
- Physician Assistant License (Colorado) or Pathologist's Assistant Certificate from the National Commission for the Certification of Physician Assistants (for PAs).
- Advanced Practice Nurse Registration (Colorado) or Nurse Practitioner-Family Certification, Nurse Practitioner National Certificate, or Nurse Practitioner-Pediatrics Certification (for APNs).
- National Provider Identifier required at hire.
- Drug Enforcement Administration Registration.
- Basic Life Support within 3 months of hire.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience working in a neurosurgery setting.
- Knowledge of neurosurgical procedures and protocols.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.
