Job Overview

Position Summary

We are actively seeking a Warehouse Manager who is dynamic, forward-thinking, and detail-oriented, possessing a strong sense of urgency and the capability to work autonomously as well as collaboratively to achieve operational excellence. This role involves leading a team by establishing productivity benchmarks, managing inventory procurement, implementing effective systems and communication within the warehouse, overseeing shipments, and addressing logistical challenges.

This position is based at our Cartwright Distribution branch. The facility spans 40,000 sq ft and will oversee a team of 20 employees.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and nurture all warehouse personnel to foster a positive and engaged team atmosphere.
  • Inspire warehouse staff to meet and surpass customer expectations as evaluated during regular team meetings.
  • Establish and uphold operational, delivery, and warehouse safety, maintenance, compliance, and cleanliness standards.
  • Supervise warehouse associates, ensuring safe operation of warehouse equipment.
  • Confirm order accuracy and quality throughout the receiving and shipping processes.
  • Utilize all necessary equipment for material handling, including forklifts and pallet jacks.
  • Adhere to shipping and receiving standard operating procedures (SOP) for both documentation and electronic systems.
  • Recommend improvements for maintenance, mechanical, electrical, and facility design for warehouses and grounds.
  • Organize warehouse space and inventory to comply with safety, efficiency, and inventory control standards.
  • Monitor drop points and remote warehouse locations, coordinating with other branches to ensure superior customer service.
  • Encourage effective communication among employees, management, and other departments.
  • Be prepared to function as a backup in all warehouse roles.
  • Perform additional duties and responsibilities as assigned or required.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in a warehouse setting within retail, wholesale trade, or a similar field.
  • Some supervisory or management experience is preferred.
  • Forklift experience and/or certification is required.
  • Proficient in technology and inventory control systems.

Other Qualifications

  • Comprehensive understanding of industry standards and best practices for warehouse operations.
  • Experience in the flooring sector is advantageous.
  • Flexibility to supervise both 1st and 2nd shifts.
  • Bi-lingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Familiarity with warehouse and distribution safety protocols.
  • Exceptional attention to detail with consistent, accurate, and high-quality work output.
  • A collaborative team player who interacts respectfully and courteously with colleagues to foster positive outcomes.
  • Ability to stand or walk for extended periods.
  • Must be capable of lifting up to 75 lbs regularly.
  • Willingness to adhere to workplace safety standards.
  • Must pass a background check and drug screening prior to employment.
  • Legally authorized to work in the United States.
