Geriatrician - MED: Internal Medicine Specialist

Job Summary

This position is part of a team of geriatricians who provide clinical care for older adults at the Healthy Aging Clinic. The incumbent will be responsible for delivering high-quality patient care, interacting with learners, and contributing to the Division of Geriatrics, Hospice, and Palliative Medicine.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clinical care for older adults in the outpatient setting
  • Consult on complex older adult patients and their broad range of illnesses, conditions, and circumstances
  • Participate in the coordination of care in the outpatient setting
  • Teach and communicate effectively with patients, families, non-professional and professional caregivers, and staff at institutions where patients reside
  • Work in multidisciplinary teams, including nursing, pharmacy, social work, and physical/occupational therapy
Requirements
  • Must possess an M.D. or D.O. degree
  • Board certified in Geriatric Medicine
  • Must be licensed in the state of California
  • Excellent understanding of older adult care and the complexity of the healthcare system
  • Ability to function in a professional manner, maintain compliance with medical staff policies, and communicate effectively with a broad range of people

  • Work is performed at UC Davis Health, Campus, and other offsite locations
