Vascular Technologist Position

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Vascular Technologist to join our team at Weill Cornell Medical College. The successful candidate will be responsible for performing a full range of non-invasive vascular testing procedures, including arterial and venous circulation evaluations using Doppler, pulse volume recorder, photoplethysmography, and duplex ultrasound imaging techniques.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Accompany providers into exam rooms, update or collect patient history, and input patient data into the practice management system.
  • Explain procedures to patients prior to testing and answer questions throughout.
  • Perform non-invasive testing procedures, including post-op graft evaluations, renal artery duplex studies, AVF/AVG evaluations, and endovascular duplex studies.
  • Compile test results for interpretation by physicians and provide preliminary interpretations as needed.
  • Ensure complete, accurate, and timely reports and billing are submitted and follow-up is completed.
  • Provide educational resources to physicians, house staff, medical students, patients, and visitors regarding non-invasive diagnostic testing.
  • Assist with accreditation and reaccreditation processes and maintain accreditation status as required by IAC.
  • Maintain inventory of supplies, equipment, and reagents, and order supplies as authorized.
  • Ensure facilities and equipment are in optimal working condition and coordinate preventative maintenance and repairs.
  • Attend workshops, seminars, and conferences to stay current with standards and best practices in the field.
  • Greets patients, triages patients through the patient flow process, and assists with walking, transfers, and preparing patients for exams.
  • Reviews and verifies patient identity, history, and requisitions for exams.
  • Maintains a sterile environment and observes standard infection control precautions.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma
  • Approximately 3 years of experience as a Vascular Technologist or Technician
  • Graduation from an accredited diagnostic ultrasound vascular program
  • Registered Vascular Technologist (RVT) or Registered Vascular Specialist (RVS) certification
  • BLS Certification (issued by the American Heart Association)
