Job Summary

Benchmark Senior Living is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Per Diem Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) or Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare staff, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality nursing care to our residents in a warm and comfortable environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assessment and Documentation: Accurately assess, communicate, and document residents' status, ensuring that their needs are met and their care is tailored to their individual requirements.
  • Observation and Reporting: Observe and report any significant changes in resident behavior and health to the Resident Care Director, physician, family, and other relevant staff members, in accordance with state regulations.
  • Leadership and Supervision: Direct and supervise the daily work assignments of Resident Care Assistants, providing guidance and support to ensure that their tasks are completed efficiently and effectively.
  • Mentorship and Guidance: Closely mentor and guide Lead Resident Care Assistants in all aspects of their job, helping them to develop their skills and knowledge.
  • Care Coordination: Coordinate care needs with community providers via an effective case management process, ensuring that residents receive seamless and comprehensive care.
  • Service Delivery: Effectively balance service demands with supporting resident independence, promoting their autonomy and dignity.
  • Prevention of Abuse and Neglect: Recognize and assist in the prevention of elder abuse, neglect, and exploitation (financial and other), reporting incidents to the relevant authorities in accordance with state regulations.
  • Emergency Response: Respond to emergencies and personal emergency response system, knowing when to call for backup to ensure the safety and well-being of residents.

Requirements

  • Current State License: Current state license as an LPN or RN and CPR certification.
  • Education and Experience: Graduate of an approved LPN or RN program (per state requirements) and a minimum of 1 to 2 years of experience working as a nurse, preferably in a long-term care setting.
  • Desirable Qualifications: Previous experience working with the elderly in a paid or volunteer position is highly desirable.
