Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Special Education Teacher to join our team at Lowell Community Charter Public School. The successful candidate will be responsible for providing instruction, evaluation, and coordination of special education students in inclusive settings.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with general education co-teachers, teaching teams, and other staff to plan and deliver instruction aligned with identified curriculum and standards.
  • Maintain high academic and social-emotional expectations for all students in the class.
  • Develop and implement specially designed instruction, accommodations, and modifications to facilitate learning.
  • Supervise paraprofessionals and ensure they provide opportunities for students to access the curriculum.
  • Develop and maintain Individualized Student Programs (IEPs) for students, ensuring compliance with federal regulations and state policies.
  • Provide accommodations to the curriculum, lessons, and learning environment to meet the needs of students with disabilities.
  • Formally and informally assess student learning to create a comprehensive learning program.
  • Set high expectations for students and administer assessments and testing as needed.
  • Build partnerships with families to encourage their active participation in student learning.
