Job Overview:

The role involves identifying methods to mitigate or eliminate corrosion on industrial equipment within manufacturing facilities or large-scale infrastructure initiatives, including metal structures, oil and gas pipelines, mining operations, and waste treatment plants.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Conducting thorough assessments and analyses of technical specifications provided by oil and gas companies as well as international standards.
  • Formulating an effective anti-corrosion strategy utilizing techniques such as Cathodic Protection (CP), Coating, Painting, Chemical Treatments, and the use of Corrosion Resistant Alloys (CRA) to enhance quality while managing costs.
  • Maintaining ongoing communication with leading suppliers of materials and equipment to stay updated on technological advancements.
  • Preparing comprehensive engineering documents that outline corrosion philosophies, including evaluations of pipelines and topside equipment.
  • Collaborating with various engineering disciplines, including Equipment, Electrical, and Instrumentation, to ensure a cohesive approach to corrosion challenges.
  • Transferring corrosion strategies to teams responsible for CP, Painting, and Coating design.
  • Designing chemical treatment processes and conducting failure analyses related to corrosion upon request from project or asset teams.
  • Working closely with installation engineering teams to address and resolve anti-corrosion issues across different projects.
  • Defining laboratory experiments aimed at advancing knowledge in the field of corrosion.
Qualifications:

Candidates should possess a minimum of 10 years of relevant experience and hold a Bachelor's or College Degree in Engineering disciplines such as Chemical, Mechanical, Metallurgical, or Petroleum/Oil/Gas. Certifications such as NACE (AMPP) Corrosion Specialist, API 571, 580, 570, and 510 are highly desirable.

The ideal candidate will have extensive knowledge in corrosion evaluations, material selection, damage mechanisms, metallurgy, and root cause analysis (RCA).
