Join Braskem America, the leading producer of polypropylene in the United States, as a Production Engineer. As a key member of our team, you will play a critical role in optimizing operating unit key process variables to drive process and product improvements while maintaining a strong safety and environmental compliance focus.
About the RoleWe are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Process Improvement Specialist to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring, troubleshooting, and optimizing operating unit key process variables to drive process and product improvements. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to develop and implement systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, equipment reliability, cost, and quality.
Key Responsibilities Include:- Develop and implement systems to improve and sustain value in the areas of health, safety, environment, production rates, equipment reliability, cost, and quality.
- Apply technical knowledge to detect causes of deviations in quality, capacity, yield, and energy consumption.
- Participate and/or lead Reliability Improvement team and sub-groups.
- Develop initial scope and business case for in-plant changes and improvement projects.
- Develop, modify, and/or review operational procedures, including commissioning and start-up procedures for new equipment.
- Lead root cause discovery studies to resolve plant process and equipment related issues.
- Specify process conditions needed to produce new or modified products, in conjunction with the Quality representative.
- Assist and/or lead in the investigation and resolution of customer complaints and nonconforming products.
- Help coordinate and plan special product trials.
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering.
- 0-5 years professional work experience.
- Possess skills to be able to contribute in a team environment and establish work relationships with onsite and offsite functional groups to achieve results.
- Self-motivated, and results-oriented.
- Strong written and verbal communications, as well as computer skills.
- Ability to define problems, collect and interpret data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
The estimated salary for this position is between $85,000 and $120,000 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. This range reflects the market rate for a Process Improvement Specialist in the Seadrift, TX area.
