Estimators play a crucial role in the success of Service Electric Company by creating accurate estimates and bids for projects within our core markets. This position requires a strong understanding of electrical construction and the ability to identify and quantify cost factors.

**Key Responsibilities:**

* Identify and quantify cost factors, such as production time, materials, and labor expenses.
* Travel to jobsites to gather information on materials needed, labor required, and other factors.
* Read blueprints and technical documents to prepare estimates.
* Collaborate with superintendents, foremen, engineers, clients, subcontractors, and suppliers to formulate estimates.
* Use computer software to calculate estimates.
* Prepare estimates and bids for clients.
* Develop project plans and schedules for the duration of the project.
* Assist Project Managers and other administrative staff to manage job setup, preconstruction, and construction schedules and activities, including invoicing.

**Requirements:**

* Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent knowledge or skills obtained through a combination of education, training, and experience.
* 3+ years of estimating experience in the electrical construction field. Experience with substations is a plus.
* Strong experience in Microsoft Office, specifically Excel.

**Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:**

* Highly organized with a strong attention to detail.
* Ability to identify and solve complex issues.
* Good analytical and problem-solving skills.
* Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
* Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills.
* Self-motivated.
* Strong project management skills, capable of handling multiple projects concurrently with good time management.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality.
* Ability to conduct oneself in an appropriate manner as a representative of Service Electric Company, working effectively in a diverse work environment.

**Licenses and Certifications:**

* PMP preferred, but not required.

**Supervisor Responsibilities:** None

**Travel Required:** Moderate
