Position Summary: We are seeking a Journey Level Marine Field Technician to support our expanding operations in the marine sector. The ideal candidate will possess significant experience with MTU engines and will be responsible for a range of marine applications.
Compensation: Hourly wage ranges from $34.00 to $47.00, commensurate with experience, plus an additional $1.50 per hour for fieldwork.

Key Responsibilities:- Assess unit condition through inspections and diagnostic evaluations, identifying any deficiencies.
- Execute engine overhauls and repairs as determined during diagnostics.
- Conduct sea trials to verify performance and make necessary adjustments.
- Manage costs effectively by utilizing warranties and evaluating service and parts options.
- Maintain accurate records of engine and vessel service and repairs.
- Ensure a safe and organized work environment.
- Embrace new challenges and explore opportunities for added value.
- Perform commissioning trials for MTU engines.
- Communicate professionally with clients while on-site.
- Provide mentorship and training to apprentice marine technicians as required.
- Proficient in laptop/PC usage.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to visually diagnose mechanical issues.
- Familiarity with service and repair manuals, operating instructions, and work orders.
- Timely execution of repairs.
- Fluency with electrical multi-meters.
- Comprehensive understanding of diesel engine electronic controls.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Technical education is advantageous.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience, particularly with large bore marine diesel engines.
- Extensive experience with MTU engines is essential.
- Familiarity with MTU MCS/RCS electronics is preferred.
- Experience with Diasys software is a plus.
- Willingness to travel frequently within an assigned territory, which may include international travel.
- Possession of a valid, unrestricted driver's license.
- Ownership of a complete set of mechanics tools.
- Transportation Worker Identification Credential (TWIC) card is advantageous.
- Completion of company-provided manufacturer training, both online and in-person.
