As a Facilities Systems Engineer within the Global Facilities Engineering division at Micron Technology, Inc., you will play a pivotal role in delivering top-notch engineering services and support for the planning, design, construction, operation, and maintenance of various systems. This position will involve collaborating with Facilities Teams and Manufacturing sites globally, serving as the Technical Authority throughout all project phases, with a strong emphasis on Global Standardization, Innovation, Reliability, Performance, and Sustainability.

Key Responsibilities:

Technical Support and Leadership
  • Provide expert consultation and assistance to Global, Regional, and Site Facilities and Manufacturing teams as the Technical Field Authority.
  • Engage with internal stakeholders, including Technology Development, Procurement, Finance, and Legal teams.
  • Develop, review, and uphold Micron's Global standards, specifications, and Best Known Methods (BKMs).
  • Ensure consistency and alignment across the Micron Global Network and Sites regarding engineering and design principles, construction project execution, reliability programs, and operational practices.
  • Evaluate system designs to identify enhancements that yield improved performance, efficiency, and cost savings.
  • Assist sites with problem-solving using standardized tools and methodologies as needed.
  • Benchmark against internal and external Micron sites on engineering best practices and facilities systems.
  • Maintain cutting-edge technical knowledge in your field, including industry trends, technological advancements, and sustainability practices.
Design and Construction Project Support
  • Assist Global, Regional, and Site teams in the engineering and design development for large-scale facilities infrastructure expansion projects.
  • Develop, review, and maintain Micron's Global design and construction standards with a focus on engineering design.
  • Create system design concepts for implementation in design and construction projects.
  • Ensure effective communication with local Facilities, Design, Construction, Procurement, and Manufacturing partners to achieve project goals.
  • Conduct timely reviews of design packages, providing documented feedback as necessary.
  • Support cost and schedule estimates and provide justifications for approvals.
  • Oversee and coordinate consultant resources as required.
  • Ensure project scope aligns with customer and stakeholder needs.
  • Adhere to change management procedures.
  • Monitor progress and provide support during construction as needed.
  • Verify that designs comply with applicable standards, codes, and regulations.
  • Review capacity planning databases and system operating trends across the network, validating utilization assumptions.
  • Participate in capacity and scenario planning, assessing impacts based on changes.
  • Advise on scope, schedule, and cost estimates for facilities infrastructure modifications.
Global Initiatives Program Support
  • Develop, review, and maintain Micron's Global Best Known Methods (BKM) documents focusing on operational reliability and performance.
  • Lead Global Facilities Programs and Initiatives, establishing program objectives, roadmaps, and implementation plans.
  • Direct Global Facilities Sustainability Programs, including emissions, energy, water, wastewater, and green infrastructure design in support of Micron's Corporate Sustainability efforts.
  • Gather and consolidate lessons learned from Micron's Global, Regional, and Site teams to enhance Global Standards and BKMs.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in Electrical Engineering is required.
  • 4 to 10 years of experience in the semiconductor or facilities-related industry.
  • Technical expertise in semiconductor electrical systems, including high, medium, and low voltage systems, critical backup systems, and electrical distribution.
  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Strong organizational skills and a service-oriented approach.
  • Excellent interpersonal and teamwork skills; proficiency in English is required.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently.
  • Familiarity with semiconductor manufacturing and facilities systems.
  • Willingness to travel internationally as needed for project phases or site activities.
