PRIMARY DUTIES:
The Printing Machine Operator is responsible for the safe setup and operation of the printing machine to produce high-quality products at the required production speed.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Interprets job specifications to ascertain printing requirements, machine setup protocols, and necessary materials.
- Adheres to job ticket instructions and promptly communicates any discrepancies to the supervisor.
- Prepares the appropriate stock and materials for upcoming jobs before completing the current task.
- Loads the machine and inspects sheets for any defects.
- Assists in the setup and operation of the printing press.
- Participates in cleaning and maintenance tasks as required, including the proper disposal of waste materials.
- Supports press operators with maintenance issues and reports any concerns.
- Capable of performing the Second Press Operator's duties when needed.
- Ensures an adequate supply of materials is available for production and during shift changes.
- Maintains a professional demeanor and represents the company positively during interactions.
- Follows the 5S methodology to keep the workspace organized and clean.
- Utilizes downtime effectively by assisting with setup or maintaining cleanliness as directed.
- May be assigned to different roles or departments based on production requirements.
LEADERSHIP:
In the absence of the Second Press Operator, the Printing Machine Operator is expected to lead the assigned team to meet production demands efficiently, following verbal and written instructions from supervisors.
QUALIFICATIONS:
EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE: A high school diploma or GED is required, along with one to three months of relevant experience or training. An equivalent combination of education and experience is acceptable. Basic computer skills and mechanical aptitude are essential for this role.
