Job Title: Retail Store Assistant Manager

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Retail Store Assistant Manager to join our team at Duluth Trading Company. As a key member of our store leadership team, you will be responsible for driving sales and profitability, leading a high-performing team, and delivering exceptional customer service.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Sales and Goals Achievement:
    • Develop and implement strategies to drive sales and achieve financial goals.
    • Lead and motivate a team of sales associates to achieve sales targets.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of sales transactions and maintain a high level of customer satisfaction.
  • Customer Service:
    • Provide exceptional customer service and ensure that all customers receive a positive experience.
    • Develop and maintain a comprehensive knowledge of our products and services to provide solution-oriented service to customers.
    • Lead by example and ensure that all team members provide excellent customer service.
  • Human Resources/Leadership Skills:
    • Recruit, train, and develop a high-performing team of sales associates.
    • Provide coaching and feedback to team members to ensure they are meeting performance expectations.
    • Ensure all human resource protocols and documentation are completed in a timely and efficient manner.
  • Store Operations:
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of merchandise receipts and transfers.
    • Lead and maintain a high level of visual merchandising standards and current floor-set and product messaging.
    • Ensure all cash handling and reporting functions are executed accurately and efficiently.
Requirements:
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Business Administration or Merchandising preferred.
  • Three years of retail experience with a minimum of one year of management experience.
  • Retail management experience preferred.
  • Specialty retail leadership experience a plus.
  • Must be customer-centric and able to adapt in a growing and changing environment.
  • Ability to motivate and lead others, with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to make good decisions.
  • Must be goal-oriented and results-driven, with a high standard of integrity and trust.
  • Excellent communicator and listener, with the ability to collaborate and function as part of a team.
  • Ability to work a flexible shift, including evenings and weekends.
Environmental Factors:
  • Must be able to stand or walk for up to eight hours a day.
  • Frequent reaching and bending and twisting – below waist and above shoulders.
  • Frequently required to use repetitive hand to finger motions and reach with hands and arms.
  • Frequently lifting up to twenty pounds, occasionally lifting up to 40 pounds. Push/pull up to 20 lbs.
  • Ability to climb ladders, reach and bend.
  • Work in temperatures ranging from degrees – especially in our stock room areas.
  • Able to use common tools such as hammer, screw driver, and wrench for floor sets.
  • Use of a computer up to 60 % of the time throughout the day.
