Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Accountant to join our team at Transition Staffing Group. This is a unique opportunity to work in a dynamic environment where you will have access to diverse responsibilities and exposure to the C-Suite.

The Senior Accountant will play a crucial role in managing and overseeing various financial operations, including general ledger oversight, investment and grant accounting, financial reporting, and assisting in budgeting and audit preparation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and reconcile monthly journal entries related to investments, payroll, fixed assets, and other critical accounts such as accruals and prepaid expenses.
  • Handle accounts payable by reviewing and accurately recording invoices, and manage accounts receivable for intercompany costs.
  • Prepare detailed quarterly and annual financial statements, including the statement of financial position, statement of activities, and related footnotes.
  • Conduct timely reconciliations for bank and credit card transactions, ensuring all discrepancies are addressed.
  • Maintain accurate records of investment documents and track monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and tax documents.
  • Assist in preparing tax returns, including annual 1099 forms and property tax reports.
  • Provide support for the preparation of cash flow budgets and expense reimbursement reports.
  • Work collaboratively on financial audits and prepare necessary reports for external auditors.
  • Assist with research and ensure compliance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
  • Maintain secure accounting records and contribute to the continuous improvement of accounting processes and internal controls.
  • Prepare and verify authorization forms for wire transfers and investment-related documents.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field (strongly preferred).
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • At least 5-7 years of relevant experience, preferably in nonprofit organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of QuickBooks and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Experience in alternative and private equity investment accounting.
  • Ability to work effectively in a small, team-oriented environment.
  • Detail-oriented with a focus on accuracy and meeting deadlines.
  • Self-motivated with strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Flexible and adaptable, capable of prioritizing and managing unexpected requests.
  • Strong ethical standards and the ability to exercise discretion in handling sensitive financial information.

We offer a competitive salary range of $90k-$100k depending on experience, as well as a comprehensive benefits package, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, and a matching 401(k) plan.
