The Diagnostic Imaging Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician. This role is crucial in ensuring the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment.
Key Responsibilities:- Perform a variety of imaging procedures ordered by the physician, including ultrasound and other diagnostic tests.
- Ensure the delivery of quality patient care in a diagnostic/therapeutic environment, adhering to strict quality control and safety protocols.
- Accurately follow physician orders, document the completion of the exam in the medical record, and verify images in the Picture Archiving and Communication System (PACS).
- Demonstrate the ability to perform surgery and portable exams, as needed.
- Follow proper procedures for quality controls and high-level disinfection (HLD) related to equipment and accessories.
- Document patient history, including lab values, accurately and thoroughly.
- Graduate of a Diagnostic Medical Sonography program.
- Registered with the American Registry for Diagnostic Medical Sonography (ARDMS) or acquire registration within 6 months.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
TriStar Skyline Medical Center is a 250+ bed facility, recognized as Tennessee's first comprehensive stroke center and a national leader in neuroscience. Our state-of-the-art equipment and facilities enable us to provide exceptional patient care, including 3 helipads, new ICU and Medical/Surgical floors, and burn care services. We are also an Accredited Chest Pain Center with PCI and an ACS verified Level II Trauma Center.
