About the Role

Flex-N-Gate Battle Creek, LLC is a leading manufacturer and supplier of components for the automotive industry. As a Tool and Die Apprentice, you will play a crucial role in our production process, working closely with our experienced team to achieve a Journeyman Card.

Key Responsibilities

As a Tool and Die Apprentice, your primary responsibilities will include:

  • Completing on-the-job training and classroom training to develop your skills in Tool and Die repair
  • Troubleshooting, maintaining, and repairing single hit, transfer, and progressive dies
  • Working from blueprints and sketches to create or modify tools, dies, jigs, and molds
  • Verifying dimensions, alignments, and clearances of finished parts for conformance to specifications, using measuring instruments such as calipers, gauge blocks, micrometers, and dial indicators
  • Conducting test runs with completed tools or dies to ensure that parts meet specifications, making adjustments as necessary

Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need to meet the following minimum qualifications:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalency is required (must provide transcript or official copy of diploma/GED)
  • Two (2) letters of recommendation (non-relative, teacher/instructor, supervisor)
  • Completed application
  • Basic skills test score of 75% or higher
  • Interview
  • Able to pass pre-employment screening including background check, drug screen, and physical
  • Previous experience working on presses is preferred
  • Previous tooling experience in a manufacturing environment is preferred
