Position Overview

The Senior Financial Analyst role at Securitas Electronic Security Inc. is based in our corporate office and encompasses all Financial Planning and Analysis (FP&A) functions. This includes responsibilities such as income statement reporting, variance analysis, KPI monitoring, monthly forecasting, annual budgeting, and preparing presentations for monthly business reviews. The analyst team plays a crucial role in supporting our operations across the U.S. and Canada, collaborating with sales, operational, and SG&A teams.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct monthly forecasting for the complete Profit and Loss (P&L) statement, focusing on revenue, COGS, and SG&A for designated departments.
  • Manage the annual budgeting process for all P&L categories within assigned departments.
  • Develop presentations for monthly and quarterly business reviews, summarizing financial performance, forecast outlook, and KPI trends.
  • Engage in regular discussions with operational leaders to assess performance against plans and current forecasts.
  • Perform variance analysis to ensure accurate financial reporting, providing explanations for any discrepancies.
  • Prepare reclassifying or correcting journal entries as necessary to maintain accurate P&L statements, ensuring proper department and branch coding.
  • Investigate issues to identify root causes and collaborate with other teams, including IT, for effective resolution.
  • Support data conversion and IT system enhancements to facilitate the integration of acquisitions.
  • Assist in the analysis and due diligence for potential mergers and acquisitions.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance is required.
  • 2-5 years of experience in Financial Planning and Analysis.
  • Experience in a corporate accounting environment is advantageous.
  • Strong analytical and communication skills are essential.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks effectively to meet multiple deadlines.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel is critical, along with familiarity with the MS Office suite.
  • Experience with systems such as Microsoft Dynamics SL, Salesforce, and Prophix is beneficial.
