Once Upon a Childcare is seeking a dedicated Infant Teacher Assistant to become a part of our nurturing team.
Starting pay is $18.50, commensurate with qualifications and experience. We offer regular pay increases for all staff who meet our program's standards and expectations. We are committed to promoting and supporting the professional growth of our teaching staff, with numerous opportunities for career advancement.
Employee Benefits:
- All employees will earn Personal Time Off (PTO) at a rate of 3.8 hours for every 40 hours worked. PTO hours are non-expiring and can be carried over to the next year.
- Sick Leave accrues at 2.6 hours for every 40 hours worked, with a maximum of 48 hours applicable each calendar year for illness-related absences. Sick leave hours do not expire and can roll over to the following year.
- Holiday Pay will be calculated based on the average hours worked and provided to employees after their initial probationary period.
- A $100 monthly bonus is available for perfect attendance.
- Employees receive a paid day off for their birthday.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the development and execution of engaging lesson plans tailored for infants aged 6 weeks to 18 months.
- Utilize diverse educational methods (such as storytelling and play) to facilitate learning.
- Monitor each child's development to enhance their social skills and self-esteem.
- Encourage peer interaction and help resolve minor conflicts.
- Guide children in developing their creative and practical skills through a structured curriculum (including shapes, numbers, colors, and art).
- Document children's progress and communicate findings to parents.
- Maintain regular communication with parents to gain insights into each child's background and emotional needs.
- Collaborate effectively with fellow educators.
- Ensure a clean and safe classroom environment in accordance with health and safety regulations.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a licensed childcare setting.
- Completion of child development courses from an accredited institution and/or relevant certifications.
- Strong understanding of child development principles and preschool educational practices.
- Knowledge of safety and sanitation standards for educational environments.
- Exceptional communication and teaching abilities.
- Capability to mediate interactions among children.
- Patient, friendly, and dependable demeanor.
- Certification in child CPR or willingness to obtain certification.
