Job Summary:
The Texas Health & Human Services Commission is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Nurse II-RN Shift Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for coordinating and overseeing nursing activities, ensuring appropriate nursing staff coverage, and providing exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee nursing activities, including comprehensive physical assessments, health screenings, and treatments.
- Ensure appropriate nursing staff coverage during assigned shifts, collaborating with other staff members as needed.
- Provide exceptional patient care, including responding to emergency situations, administering medications, and performing technical nursing procedures.
- Develop and present information for inservice training or staff development, as assigned.
- Communicate effectively with other disciplines, families, and staff members to ensure optimal care.
- Participate in competency-based training and continuing education activities to maintain competence in nursing best practice.
Requirements:
- Licensed to practice as a registered nurse in the State of Texas or a state that recognizes reciprocity through the Nurse Licensure Compact.
- At least six months of experience working as a practicing registered nurse, with two years of experience preferred.
- At least one year of experience as a practicing registered nurse in a health agency, hospital, or healthcare facility, with nursing supervisory experience preferred.
