Position Overview

We are in search of a meticulous and proficient Per Diem Staff Pharmacist to enhance our pharmacy operations. The successful candidate will be tasked with the precise dispensing of medications, offering clinical assistance to healthcare teams, and ensuring adherence to regulatory standards. This role will involve working during overnight shifts, thereby supporting the seamless delivery of pharmacy services and upholding exceptional patient care standards.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Medication Dispensing: Ensure accurate dispensing of medications as per prescription directives, prioritizing patient safety and compliance with legal regulations.
  2. Clinical Collaboration: Work alongside healthcare professionals to provide clinical insights, including drug information, therapeutic recommendations, and monitoring for adverse reactions.
  3. Order Assessment: Scrutinize and confirm medication orders for accuracy, suitability, and compliance with formulary protocols.
  4. Quality Control: Engage in regular quality control measures to uphold high standards of pharmacy services and regulatory compliance.
  5. Patient Counseling: Educate patients on medication usage, potential side effects, and address any related questions to ensure proper understanding and adherence.
  6. Emergency Preparedness: Participate actively in emergency response initiatives, providing timely and accurate medication support during critical scenarios.
  7. Inventory Oversight: Supervise and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring sufficient stock levels and minimizing waste.
  8. Team Collaboration: Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to enhance patient outcomes and ensure a comprehensive approach to care.
  9. Record Keeping: Maintain precise and current patient records, prescription files, and necessary documentation.
  10. Ongoing Education: Stay updated on new medications, treatment protocols, and industry advancements through continuous education and training.

Compensation: Salary is based on education and experience, with a range from $47.50 to $68.00 per hour. Eligible for shift and PRN differentials.

Minimum Qualifications:
  • PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy institution.
Experience:
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy environment is preferred.
Licensure:
  • Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina.
