Position Overview

  1. Medication Dispensing: Ensure precise dispensing of medications according to prescription directives, prioritizing patient safety and compliance with legal stipulations.
  2. Clinical Assistance: Work collaboratively with healthcare professionals to deliver clinical support, including drug information, therapeutic interventions, and monitoring for potential adverse drug reactions.
  3. Order Review: Scrutinize and confirm medication orders for accuracy, appropriateness, and alignment with formulary guidelines.
  4. Quality Control: Engage in routine quality control activities to uphold high standards of pharmacy services and regulatory compliance.
  5. Patient Counseling: Educate patients on medication usage, possible side effects, and address any related questions to ensure comprehensive understanding and adherence.
  6. Emergency Preparedness: Participate actively in emergency response protocols, providing timely and accurate medication support during critical incidents.
  7. Inventory Oversight: Oversee and manage pharmacy inventory, ensuring sufficient stock levels while minimizing waste.

Compensation is based on education and experience, with a hiring range from $47.50 to $68.00/hr. Eligible for shift and PRN differentials.

Minimum Educational Requirements
  • PharmD degree from an accredited pharmacy institution.
Preferred Experience
  • Prior experience in a hospital or clinical pharmacy environment is desirable.
Licensure Requirements
  • Must be licensed to practice pharmacy in the State of North Carolina.
