The Opportunity

We are in search of a New Business Conflicts Clearance Analyst to become a part of our Firm. The New Business Conflicts Clearance Analyst will assist the New Business Conflicts Clearance team by performing comprehensive conflicts checks, maintaining precise records in the conflicts database, and ensuring the smooth functioning of the conflicts resolution process. Please be aware that the Firm will not sponsor applicants for work visas for this position.

  1. Evaluates and interprets conflicts reports to identify any potential conflicts of interest that necessitate resolution.
  2. Works collaboratively with other members of the New Business Conflict Clearance team, Conflicts Attorneys, and the Office of the General Counsel to address potential ethical conflicts and facilitate the initiation of new matters.
  3. Effectively communicates with attorneys and staff to collect necessary information for conflicts checks, conflicts review, and to clarify any inconsistencies in the iManage request form.
  4. Confirms the requirements for each conflict check with the requesting attorney or secretary to ensure adherence to firm policies and legal standards.
  5. Conducts corporate research utilizing both internal and external resources to verify the accuracy of information and comprehend corporate relationships and structures.
  6. Coordinates with the Client Accounting Department and other relevant departments to ensure the integrity and consistency of database information.
  7. Provides coverage for departmental functions, including after-hours and weekend support as required, ensuring continuous operation of conflicts resolution processes.
  8. Exhibits effective interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills to foster productive work relationships with others.
  9. Manages Firm resources responsibly.
  10. Adheres to and comprehends Firm operations, policies, and procedures.
  11. Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  1. Proficient in relevant firm computer software programs (e.g., Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint), with the capacity to learn new software and operating systems.
  2. Familiarity with conflicts database software, preferably iManage, and a general understanding of the conflicts resolution process in a legal or professional services environment.
  3. Demonstrates effective interpersonal and communication skills, both verbally and in writing, in interactions with Firm attorneys and staff.
  4. Exhibits meticulous attention to detail.
  5. Possesses excellent analytical, troubleshooting, organizational, and planning skills.
  6. Able to manage multiple projects and shifting priorities.
  7. Capable of handling sensitive matters and maintaining confidentiality.
  8. Adept at organizing and prioritizing work.
  9. Thrives in a demanding and fast-paced environment.
  10. Functions well independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
  11. Utilizes discretion and exercises independent and sound judgment.
  12. Flexibility to adjust hours and work the necessary hours to meet operational and business needs.
  13. Bachelor's degree.
  14. Minimum one year of relevant experience in a law firm or professional services firm.
  15. Experience working within a conflicts department at an Am Law 50 firm.

The starting base salary for this position is anticipated to fall within the range listed under Salary Details. Actual salary will be determined based on skills, experience (to the extent relevant), and other job-related factors, consistent with applicable law.
