About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Substance Misuse Prevention Specialist to join our Counseling and Psychological Services team. The ideal candidate will have a Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field, with two years of full-time experience providing alcohol and other drug assessments and interventions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide generalist psychotherapy services for students, with a focus on substance misuse-related concerns.
  • Collaborate with campus partners to develop and implement initiatives promoting prevention, education, and assessment of campus substance misuse.
  • Develop, implement, and monitor treatment plans that reflect evidence-based interventions for substance misuse-related concerns.
  • Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for after-hours consultation related to student urgent mental health needs.

Requirements

The successful candidate must possess a Master's degree in counseling, social work, psychology, or a related field from an accredited program, and two years of full-time experience providing alcohol and other drug assessments and interventions. Licensure in the state of Georgia and certification in substance abuse treatment (e.g., CAADC, CSAC) are also required.
