Speech Pathologist Fellow Opportunity
Cleveland Clinic is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated Speech Pathologist Fellow to join our team in an outpatient setting. As a Speech Pathologist Fellow, you will work closely with our experienced team to provide high-quality patient care and develop your clinical skills.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide patient evaluations and treatments in accordance with physician referrals, ensuring the care, safety, and well-being of patients.
- Continuously review and revise patient plans of care as needed.
- Prepare progress reports on all treatments and communicate with medical staff and family members to assist patients in treatment techniques.
- Perform voice evaluations and treatments for various voice disorders, as well as bedside swallow evaluations.
- Demonstrate competency with MBS assessments for adults and pediatrics.
Requirements:
- Masters, Doctorate, or SLP-D degree from an accredited school of Speech-Language Pathology.
- Hold or be eligible for a Speech-Language Conditional License or Provisional license from the State Board of Speech Language Pathology & Audiology.
- Meet all academic and practicum guidelines established by the American Speech Language Hearing Association for Certificate of Clinical Competence (CCC-SLP) upon completion of the Clinical Fellowship Year.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) through American Heart Association (AHA).
Preferred Qualifications:
- This is a one-year, first-year position, and other length and type of experience requirements are not necessary.
Physical Requirements:
- Work is medium/frequent lifting and carrying equipment, supplies, and materials up to 50 pounds without help of mechanical devices or other personnel.
- Stooping, pushing, and pulling when moving patients or equipment into position for treatment.
- Talking and hearing to convey instruction and information to patients and staff members.
- Visual acuity to perceive reactions to treatment and to follow or read instructions.
Personal Protective Equipment:
- Follows Standard Precautions using personal protective equipment as required for procedures.
