Join Our Team as a Climate Emergency Field Organizer

Action for the Climate Emergency (ACE) is seeking a highly motivated and dedicated individual to join our team as a Climate Emergency Field Organizer. This is a part-time, temporary position based in the communities of Atlanta, Athens, and surrounding suburbs.

About the Role

The Climate Emergency Field Organizer will work closely with our team to develop and implement field strategies for climate advocacy on college campuses. This will include community outreach and engagement, training and development, collaboration and reporting, and program delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Community Engagement: Actively participate in community outreach and engagement activities, including attending a minimum of one Saturday per month for special events or campaigns.
  • Training and Development: Attend monthly in-person training sessions, with transportation provided, and utilize the provided tablet for various field activities and online training.
  • Program Delivery: Work closely with team members during in-person meetings and virtual engagements, and regularly report on field activities and progress.
Qualifications
  • Strong interest in pursuing a career in field-related work.
  • Targeted campuses/communities include Atlanta and Athens.
  • Self-starter with strong organizational skills and creativity.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to cultivate and manage partnerships and internal and external relationships.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills. Bilingual skills are a definite plus.
  • Strong computer skills (Google Apps, Microsoft Suite, Salesforce, task management platforms).
  • Comfortable working remotely and as part of a small team.
  • Ability to commit a minimum of 10 hours per week and at least one Saturday per month for in-person engagements.
Position Details
  • Schedule: 10-20 hours per week.
  • Stipend: $1k per month plus travel expenses.
  • Academic Integration: For student fellows, explore the opportunity to earn college credits through this fellowship (advisory check with college required).
  • Training: Comprehensive training is provided.
  • Equipment: Tablet provided for program use.
  • Location: Based in the communities of Atlanta, Athens, and surrounding suburbs.
  • This is a 5-month program that will start in February and end in June of 2024.
