About the Role

Kennedy Jenks Consultants is seeking a highly skilled Senior Electrical Engineer to join our team of experts in water and wastewater infrastructure facilities. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for planning and designing electrical systems for water and wastewater infrastructure facilities, including pump stations, buildings, treatment facilities, and related infrastructure.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support multi-disciplinary teams on electrical engineering projects, ensuring seamless collaboration and effective communication.
  • Perform power system design and studies, including load flow, short circuit, protective relaying coordination, and arc-flash hazard analysis, to ensure safe and efficient electrical systems.
  • Contribute to conceptual report writing and preparation of construction plans and specifications, providing clear and concise documentation for stakeholders.
  • Work on CAD (Computer-Aided Design and Drafting) or BIM to assist in the production of final design documents, ensuring accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Coordinate Process and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs) and associated logic diagrams with control schematics for assorted process equipment, ensuring proper integration and functionality.
  • Perform calculations for voltage drop, electrical load studies, system power flow, standby generator sizing, fault study calculations, and protective device coordination, to ensure electrical systems meet industry standards and regulations.
  • Work on lighting and fire alarm system design, ensuring compliance with relevant codes and standards.
  • Technical services will also include electrical power systems for generation and distribution, cabling (cable trays and conduits) and wiring, motor control centers, communications systems, grounding and lightning protection, etc.
  • Review Contractor's shop drawing and submittals regarding electrical work, investigating and developing engineered solutions to Contractor's Requests for Information, ensuring timely and cost-effective project delivery.
Qualifications
  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related field.
  • Minimum of seven years of experience required, preferably in wastewater and industrial waste treatment facilities related projects.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to prepare complete, concise, and organized engineering calculations and analyses.
  • AutoCAD and advanced 3D/BIM modeling capabilities, along with the ability to produce 2D construction documents. MicroStation and AutoCAD experience preferred.
  • Active PE is required, and able to obtain PEs in other states through reciprocity.
