Job Summary

The Center for Justice Innovation is seeking a highly skilled Budget Analyst to join its team. As a key member of the Fiscal Department, this individual will be responsible for managing a portfolio of government grants and contracts, ensuring compliance with regulations, and providing financial analysis and reporting.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage program grants, contracts, revenue, and expenditures, ensuring compliance with government regulations.
  • Analyze program costs and variances to budget and forecast, providing recommendations for improvement.
  • Review and submit adjusting journal entries as needed, ensuring accurate financial reporting.
  • Develop and maintain budgets and forecasts for revenue and operating expenses, working closely with Project Directors.
  • Manage relationships and reporting with government agencies and other funders, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Collaborate with the Development department to prepare and review budgets for submission in response to requests for proposals.
  • Review and approve vendor invoices, staff allocations, and expense reports, ensuring compliance with financial policies.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience with budgets and grants/contracts, preferably in nonprofit and/or government accounting.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel, with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to work effectively with staff, funders, and other stakeholders.
What We Offer

The Center for Justice Innovation offers a competitive salary range of $62,000 - $84,500, commensurate with experience. We also provide an excellent benefits package, including comprehensive healthcare, free basic dental coverage, vision insurance, short-term and long-term disability, life insurance, and flexible spending accounts.

We prioritize mental health care for our staff and offer services like Talkspace and Ginger through our healthcare plans. We also offer a 403(b) retirement plan with a two-to-one employer contribution up to 5%.
