Job Overview:

The Sarah Cannon Transplant & Cellular Therapy Program at HCA Florida North Florida Hospital is seeking exceptional Advanced Practice Providers (APPs) to support the establishment of their inaugural program in Florida, contributing to the largest network of Transplant and Cellular Therapy (TCT) in the United States.

Ideal Candidates Will:
  • Work collaboratively with experienced physicians in the innovative Sarah Cannon Transplant & Cellular Therapy Program in Florida, representing the tenth program under HCA Healthcare.
  • Be adaptable to both inpatient and outpatient environments, with responsibilities that may shift based on patient volume. As the program expands, there may be opportunities to specialize in one setting.
  • In the inpatient context, assist the attending physician by engaging in patient care and management across various hospital units. Duties include conducting patient rounds, participating in daily care discussions, entering orders, coordinating with consultants, and managing scheduling for therapeutic and diagnostic procedures.
  • In the outpatient clinic, under the guidance of an attending physician, provide diagnostic and therapeutic healthcare services. Responsibilities encompass gathering medical histories, performing physical examinations, coordinating laboratory tests and diagnostic studies, prescribing medications, and aiding patients with treatment plans and educational needs.
  • Be proficient in or willing to learn minor procedures such as bone marrow biopsies, lumbar punctures, intrathecal chemotherapy, skin biopsies, supervising cellular product infusions, and overseeing apheresis/photopheresis.
  • Manage complex cases involving blood cancers, hematopoietic cell transplantation, and cellular therapies, co-managing all patients within this service.

  • A dedicated inpatient unit for blood cancer and TCT care featuring 18 private beds, with plans for expansion as the program develops.
  • An outpatient Apheresis and Infusion Center equipped with 12 beds to facilitate cell collections and infusion needs.
  • A Blood Cancer & TCT Clinic serving as the primary site for multidisciplinary team offices.
