Plumbing Estimator Job Description

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our Plumbing Estimating Department, you will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and analyzing construction plans to successfully bid on new construction plumbing projects.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Prepare accurate estimates for Residential/Commercial Plumbing projects
  • Utilize Excel-based estimating software to prepare bids efficiently and effectively
  • Assist with preparing project-specific proposal documents and communicate the scope of work and budgets to relevant stakeholders
  • Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine the required scope
  • Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to obtain accurate pricing
  • Coordinate with other departments to ensure the proper transfer of proposals, plans, and required documents
  • Prepare diagrams or schematics for builder permit packages as needed
Requirements:
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with an emphasis on Excel
  • Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints and change orders
  • Proficiency in designing and producing project material takeoff
  • Preliminary design work will be necessary to complete estimates; proficiency in plumbing design is required
  • Ability to work independently and coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Self-motivated and punctual
