Plumbing Estimator

Bayonet Plumbing, Heating, and Air Conditioning is seeking a skilled Plumbing Estimator to join our team. As a key member of our Plumbing Estimating Department, you will be responsible for evaluating bid specifications and analyzing construction plans to successfully bid on new construction plumbing projects.

• Prepare detailed estimates for residential and commercial plumbing projects
• Utilize Excel-based estimating software to prepare bids efficiently and accurately
• Assist with preparing project-specific proposal documents and communicate the scope of work and budgets to relevant stakeholders
• Analyze existing site conditions and contract documents to determine the required scope of work
• Develop working relationships with local material suppliers and equipment vendors to obtain accurate and current pricing
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure the proper transfer of proposals, plans, change orders, and required documents
• Prepare diagrams or schematics for builder permit packages as needed
• Collaborate with other estimating staff to complete department duties

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, with a strong emphasis on Excel
• Ability to read and interpret information from blueprints and change orders
• Proficiency in designing and producing project material takeoff
• Preliminary design work is necessary to complete estimates; proficiency in plumbing design is required
• Ability to interpret purchase orders
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Self-motivated and punctual
• Ability to coordinate multiple projects simultaneously
• Excellent follow-up skills, both internally and externally
• 2+ years of previous plumbing experience is highly desired
