Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Assistant to join our team at Penn State Health Milton S. Hershey Medical Center. As a Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist healthcare professionals with various medical procedures and tasks
  • Collect and process patient specimens for laboratory testing
  • Conduct routine lab studies and prepare samples for analysis
  • Coordinate patient flow and schedule appointments and phone messages
  • Provide administrative support to the healthcare team
Requirements
  • High School diploma or equivalent required
  • Must meet current eligibility to sit for the exam with attainment of certification or registration through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistants within 90 days of employment date
  • Current active status as a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through one of the Penn State Health approved agencies for Medical Assistant certification required
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required or must obtain BLS Certification within 6 months of employment date
Preferred Qualifications
  • Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant Program
  • Previous outpatient experience preferred
