With a workforce of around 500 employees and 15 locations across multiple states, we are on the lookout for a seasoned and motivated professional to take on the role of Chief Financial Officer (CFO). In this pivotal position, you will be responsible for steering all financial operations and guiding our finance team, while collaborating closely with the executive leadership team and reporting directly to the CEO.
Key Responsibilities
- Collaborate with the CEO and COO to define long-term cash and financing needs for business growth.
- Develop annual financial goals that align with the company’s strategic vision for expansion.
- Ensure timely and precise preparation of monthly financial statements and comparative reports.
- Oversee cash management, bank reconciliations, and the review of general ledger entries, while preparing weekly cash flow analyses for all business units.
- Standardize accounting practices across all dealerships and maintain scheduled entries and accruals.
- Regularly assess accounting policies to ensure adherence to generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
- Act as the primary financial liaison with legal advisors, independent auditors, and financial institutions.
- Negotiate and maintain documentation for all company purchases, contracts, and insurance policies.
- Manage stockholder tax obligations and distributions.
- Assist General Managers in formulating quarterly and annual financial forecasts.
- Supervise Office Managers to guarantee effective cash management and accurate financial reporting.
- Maintain ongoing communication with Office Managers through various channels.
- Stay informed about financing options, interest rates, and industry developments.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant federal and state regulations regarding automotive financing.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in a CFO or senior finance role.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related discipline; MBA or CPA preferred.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel.
- Outstanding communication, relational, and presentation abilities.
- Strong analytical skills with the capacity to interpret complex financial data.
- Strategic mindset with a proven record of enhancing financial performance.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, capable of influencing and collaborating across all organizational levels.
- Thorough understanding of financial regulations and accounting best practices.
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record.
